Q: How do I apply for LocalizationDev and when will I know if I am attending?

A: Individuals interested in participating in the sprint should send a short application detailing the following:

  • Name, organisation, and contact information
  • Experience with planning, implementing and maintaining localisation projects.
  • Areas of focus in doing localisation, particularly those on which you could lead discussion

The organisers seek to create a diverse and balanced participant group. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants will be notified of their status as quickly as possible so as to include them in planning efforts, and participation will granted on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited.

Q: Do I need visa to enter Poland?

Check if your country of origin is on this list. According to Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citizens from other countries not enumerated on the list above need to have a visa when visiting Poland. If you are on the list, you can enter Poland without visa for less than 90 days.

Q: What is the exchange rate?

A: At the moment of writing, 1 Euro (EUR) = 4,2883 Polish Zlotys (PLN) or 1 US Dollar (USD) = 3,3185 Polish Zlotys (PLN). More current information can be obtained at: http://www.nbp.pl/Kursy/RatesA.html.

Q: What kind of weather should I expect?

A: 230 V, 50 Hz, European plug style (two round pins).
